Estate planning documentation can be prepared in contemplation of future children and we recommend doing so immediately, rather than delaying until after birth of a child.
Generally there should be no need to change the documentation after the birth (unless there is a change in the instructions about who is to be nominated in key roles, e.g. guardian).
In the estate planning data entry interview, on the ‘Guardians for minor children’ page, tick the question ‘TICK to include a guardian for future children’ and input instructions for the guardians.
