There are a number of alternatives for secure storage for ongoing storage and it is up to your customer what they prefer to do.
There is no legal requirement about where the original estate planning documents are kept, however we strongly recommend that they are stored in a water and fire proof secure facility.
View Legal’s secure storage service for customers of advisers who are View Community members includes:
- Review of any original estate planning documents returned to us, to confirm that they have been executed correctly;
- Confirmation to the facilitating adviser of receipt of the documents, and any execution concerns; and
- Storage in our secure storage facility.
We recommend that you take copies of the signed documents before returning them to us for secure storage.

Secure Storage is part of your customer’s estate planning package for so long as you maintain your View Community monthly membership. As the storage centre is unable to be accessed in person, documents are posted at your expense with a choice of delivery time |
