View Legal’s secure storage service is for customers of advisers (who are View Community members) and includes:
- Review of any original estate planning documents returned to us, to confirm that they have been executed correctly;
- Confirmation to the facilitating adviser of receipt of the documents, and any execution concerns; and
- Storage of documents in our secure storage facility (that is, in line with Law Society guidelines for original estate planning documentation, in a fire proof, temperature controlled vault).
To access this service, original documents are to be mailed (ideally via trackable post) to:

Generally, our secure storage team does bulk collections from Australia Post every 10 days. Items are then reviewed and checked for any errors or issues by a specialist estate planning lawyer.
An email is sent to the facilitating adviser once review is completed.
Therefore, it can be up to 14 working days from the date that the document shows as received on the Australia Post tracking page to the date that an email is sent to the adviser. View does not acknowledge receipt of the documents as they arrive, hence the suggestion that documents are sent via trackable post so that the adviser or customer can review when they have arrived.
If more than 14 workings days have passed and an email has not been received, then next step is as follows:
1. If you are the customer, please email your facilitating adviser with the following details:
a. Tracking number
b. Screen shot of the tracking details
2. If you are the facilitating adviser, please send an email to solutions@viewlegal.com.au with the following details:
a. Full name of customer
b. Tracking number
c. Screen shot of the tracking details
This will enable the team at View to review and consider the most appropriate next step to trace where the documents are at.
Future access to documents from secure storage requires certain steps to be taken because:
(a) the guidelines are mandated by our Professional body and insurer
(b) it protects you as the facilitating adviser and your customer’s documents
(c) each party confirms receipt and acknowledge their agreement to the process.
